JIBOIA is here!

Jiboia is the musical child of the red rocks of Sedona and the Cosmic Serpent. The day this piece was born I stepped foot into the desert with a plan to write a song… and I was so blessed to see it through.

The musical accompaniment has the eerie, phantasmagoric quality of the desert. If you listen closely, you’ll heart the rattling of snakes and the howling winds of the high desert. Austin Wilmot’s electric guitar creeps in throughout the piece and adds so much mystique as well. Simultaneously, my lyrics speak unbearable beauty that we must find reverence for.

I call in the JIBOIA, the Cosmic Serpent of the Amazon, who is a powerful Spirit that is called within Ayahuasca ceremonies in the South. There is also a sacred tobacco blend (Hapeh) that the indigenous pray with that is named after the Jiboia. They believe this Serpent is the ultimate protector, and I have witnessed this myself.

It’s no surprise that Ayahuasca herself is represented by a serpent- it is shown through tapestries, song and culture. I call Her essence in, within this peace. Every time I have sang this in ceremony, I have felt the Spirit of Jiboia enter the space prominently and palpably. Some songs just send you straight to the ether, and I’m proud to say this song just does the trick.

Truthfully, this is one of the most powerful things I ever wrote, and I hope that it reaches your heart like it has mine.
